To recognize their efforts and services at this time of the pandemic, some barangay frontliners throughout the province have received a Christmas package from the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN).

Over 17,500 barangay frontliners, consist of barangay officials, Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), and other barangay volunteers, will be given packs of noche buena, a frontliner shirt, and P1,000 cash assistance, along with the replenishment of medicine supply for each barangay, in time for Christmas.

Yesterday, the Provincial Government led by Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc headed to Brgy. Poblacion in Burgos, Brgy. Davila in Pasuquin, Brgy. Lubnac in Vintar, Brgy. Gabut Norte in Badoc, Brgy. Nagbacalan in Paoay, Brgy. Baay in Batac City, and Brgy San Lorenzo in San Nicolas to distribute the package for the first batch of beneficiaries.

“We want to encourage you to keep the protection of our people especially this Christmas season. For sure, many people will want to gather, so let’s continue to practice ‘yong pag-limit ng gatherings. I-guide natin ang mga ka-barangay natin. Kung hindi tayo mag-ingat, baka pagdating ng January o February next year, naka-lockdown tayo dahil sa mga kaso. Mag-ingat po tayo para tuloy-tuloy ang ekonomiya at trabaho natin. Keep up the good work and keep leading the way. Advance Merry Christmas!,” Gov. Marcos Manotoc remarked.

Moreover, Ms. Elizabeth Rivera, one of the beneficiaries of Brgy.
