During this love month, you can savor your weekend as TCC offers a Cacao Orientation Course every 2nd and 4th Friday of February.

Many “chocolate lovers” didn’t know where chocolate came from, how it was made and who was involved in the production? As everyone loves chocolates, this is the best opportunity to join this kind of orientation.

Cacao Educator Mr. Edu T. Pantino will present the Rationale about the 3-hour orientation course on cacao and how it has become a part of the chocolate-drinking tradition among Filipinos.

Meanwhile, the “Chocolate Princess”, Hannah Mae T. Choa, will demonstrate Sikwate with the Senses using the 5S in Sikwate (Swirl, Smell, Sip, Swish, Swallow) as she shares a well-kept secret of The Chocolate Chamber through the evolution of the cacao beans.

Part of the orientation is Tasting the Tablea. Each participant gets to know cacao farming and taste Hannah’s creations like breads, cupcakes, cookies, champorado, tablea ensaymada, sikwate, chocondense and chocomallows during the Tsokolate Break at Ralfe Gourmet Casa De Cacao.

First Consolidated Cooperative along Tañon Seaboards (FCCT) Agri-Business Manager Ms. Clavel P. Aves will give a presentation on “Theobroma cacao” which is the Tree of the Food of the Gods. FCCT Cacao Technician Mr. Riel A. Allego will also tackle on how to start a cacao farm. At the same time, he will conduct a demonstration on the application of TCC Natural Fertilizer in potting mix and also grafting the cacao seedling.

The resource persons will entertain questions from participants especially those who have cherished and loved chocolate through The Chocolate Chamber and to those who are yet to partake in the experience.

A minimal fee of Php850 will be charged per participant to join the 3-hour Orientation Course on Cacao. Limited slots available. TCC will only accept 6 participants per course. Each guest will get a grafted cacao seedling and a pack of TCC Natural Fertilizer after the activity.
