CBM 2021 calls for Cebu to RISE FORWARD

Cebu, Philippines – The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is now gearing for its annual flagship project, the Cebu Business Month (CBM), to launch this June and will expand to a year-long series of programs, events and activities relevant to the current times.On its 25th year, the CBM 2021 banners the theme “RISE Forward”, a campaign to boost confidence and buoyancy of the local business community, particularly MSMEs by providing opportunities that promote and enable digital transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity towards resilience and global competitiveness.

“As we stand up, collect our wits, move forward, to soldier on and rise even higher than before, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry on its 25th year of CBM wants to showcase a path to success that Cebuano Entrepreneurs are able to Reinvent, Innovate, Sustain, Empower and RISE FORWARD even in a very challenging times,” Vice President for CCCI Cebu Business Mobilization Michael Cubos said in a statement.

Focusing on CBM’s Major Thrusts, each key industry bears its respective “call to action” messages: CREATIVE INDUSTRY – Reinvent, Imagine, Sustain, and Equip; TOURISM -Rediscover, Invite, Support and Engage; ICT/BPM – Revolutionize, Inclusion, Solidarity, and Empower; and ENTREPRENEURSHIP – Resilient, Innovate, Sustain, and Empower.

CBM 2021 virtual activities will kick off with its TOURISM COFFEE TABLE DISCUSSION on June 3 and TOURISM SUMMIT on June 24. Also queued under Tourism events are the TOURISM MINI SERIES on Alternative Lodging and Outdoor Educational Tours on July 30, Adventure Activities on September 30 and Foodie Treats & Health and Wellness Retreats on November 19.

“CBM’s thrust for 2021 is to highlight local tourist products and destinations, not just in preparation for the eventual return of our foreign tourists, but also to encourage Cebuanos to explore the many local attractions that we have, right here in our own backyards,” said Ms. Brigitte Lim, CBM 2021 Tourism Chairperson. Addressing innovation and the latest trends of business opportunities during the recession with COVID-19 pandemic, the CBM Entrepreneurship Committee is all set with its ENTREPRENEURS’ SUMMIT on July 28, ENTREPRENEURSHIP COFFEE TABLE DISCUSSION on June 29 and series of Idea & Consultation Sessions on July 28 and October 15.

To position Cebu as the Creative Entertainment Hub, CBM 2021’s Creative Industry Committee is also preparing series of events and activities aimed at re-inventing the digital creative industry to achieve greater relevance in the community through accessibility and impact for all stakeholders in the local creative industry.
