The WIW is a global campaign that encourages securities regulators to put a spotlight to promote investor protection.

Lupango-Tamayo encouraged the public to secure their financial future by becoming smart investors.

She also enjoined the media in helping disseminate information for the public to make wise decisions and avoid getting into fraudulent schemes.

There are a variety of legitimate and accessible investment options where Filipinos can place their hard-earned money, such as stocks, bonds, government securities and mutual funds.

The IPW started when President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 846, series of 2019 declaring the second week of November of every year as “Investor Protection Week.”
