WAF General Assembly in Portugal attended by 130 delegates from 28 different countries

The World Apostolate of Fatima, in compliance with its international Statutes, held its General Assembly from the 23rd to the 28th of October 2022, in Fatima, Portugal. Every four years, representatives of the Apostolate from various countries will gather for the said major event.

WAF Philippines joined The World Apostolate of Fatima General Assembly in Portugal represented by newly elected WAF International Vice President Mr. Reynald Andales, Mrs. Debra Andales and Rev. Fr. Jerald Pinay. In attendance were 130 delegates from 28 countries including the newly organized WAF Ukraine.

Delegates and Observers from all over the world gathered  for a 5 day program that include, among other things, the presentation of national activity reports, formation talks on the message of Fatima, elections to the Board of Trustees and the preparation of the pastoral plan for the Apostolate. The program also include a pilgrimage to the holy sites in Fatima as well as to other religious / cultural places.

The World Apostolate of Fatima is a PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF THE FAITHFUL, approved by the Holy See, whose DECREE OF ERECTION was signed on October, 7, 2005, Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

The World Apostolate of Fatima promotes the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church and the strict adherence to the tenets of the Gospel; the personal sanctification of adherents through faithful adherence to the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima – Portugal, in 1917, to three little shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta Marto and the promotion of the common good by the spreading of this same message.

The international headquarters of the World Apostolate of Fatima is located in Domus Pacis, Fatima, Portugal.

The newly elected WAF INTERNATIONAL Board of Trustees which will serve from 2022 to 2027 are the following: International President Prof. Michael Ogunu from Nigeria; International Vice President Reynald Andales from the Philippines; International Secretary Edith Koch from Switzerland; and International Treasurer David Kelly from USA. Meanwhile, the International Trustees include Oksana Bodak from Ukraine; Fr. Damian Maria from South Korea; Fr. MV Sunni from India; JR Pereira from Samoa and Walter Karger from Germany.
