Delegates from 35 countries convene for the 21st Congress of Family Enrichment in Cebu today

More than a thousand parents, educators and young people from 35 countries from the 5 continents attended the 21st Congress of Family Enrichment and the 2nd World Congress of Personal Project of the International Federation for Family Development (IFFD) held at the Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

The congresses are held within the framework of the 30th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family where the delegates reflect and share experiences around the theme “Family Life and New Technologies”.

The IFFD Congresses have the mission to disseminate knowledge and values in favor of the family and the person. They are designed to facilitate learning and the exchange of experiences. Its International character allows to receive approaches from multicultural environments.

For 20 previous editions of the congress, they have shed light on the most relevant issues for families. The conferences will range in topics like Virtous Leadership, New Technologies & AI, Mental Health, Sexuality, Self-fulfillment, Marriage and more.

“We couldn’t be more excited to gather such a distinguished group of speakers to talk about the important topic of New Technologies,” said Javier Vidal-Quadras, IFFD Secretary General.

IFFD is an international federation dedicated to helping parents in their educational work and young people in their personal development with training courses. It is present in 68 countries and has consultative status with the United Nations ECOSOC.

IFFD mission is to generate dynamics that help every person discover and live the beauty of family life in a friendly environment that promotes personal growth. They empower families worldwide through improved communication and collaboration skills, and their programs.

On the other hand, their professional activities of advocacy aim to integrate a family perspective into international, regional, national and local development agendas through the design, implementation and monitoring of evidence-based laws, policies and programs. They promote and participate in scientific projects and other activities aimed at raising awareness and disseminating evidence-based findings to enrich our local and international work.

Meanwhile, a founding member of IFFD which is Education for the Upbringing of Children (EDUCHILD) partners with parents in their desire to become more effective leaders of their families by providing age-appropriate parenting courses and marriage and family enrichment activities.  It conducts researches, workshops, seminars, forums, conferences and similar activities where parents, students, educators and other professionals can acquire valid principles to make them productive members of society and responsible citizens of the country.

To date, EDUCHILD is present in 16 locations: Alabang, Angeles, Antipolo, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Caloocan City, Cebu, Davao, Greenhills, Iloilo, Makati, Palawan, Pasig, Quezon City, Sta. Rosa and Taguig City.

Its courses follow both the developmental stages of children as well as the changes that may happen on the marital sphere. These ensure strengthening the relationship between husband and wife which is the foundation of the family and for them to raise children in an atmosphere of love and joy.
