New establishments will soon operate at City di Mare (CDM) in South Road Properties (SRP) within the site of the joint venture of the Cebu City Government with Filinvest.
CDM welcomed these businesses with Cebu City Acting Mayor Raymond Alvin N. Garcia over the weekend at the CDM Visitors Center, a partnership that marks a new formative period at SRP.
These include outlets of Jollibee, Chowking and Bo’s Coffee, a Caltex gasoline station, a golf driving range, and soccer fields that TGR Football Academy will operate.
“We are very happy that you are already here because your presence will stimulate further growth and enhance the economy in this area,” Garcia told executives of the new locators.
“People will be attracted to this place because you are here. That is why I am so happy and extremely thankful to our locators who took a chance and trusted us by staying in what was once unfamiliar territory,” he added.
The mayor compared this new wave of investments to the bold move by the City and Filinvest to start developing SRP in 2008, when the area was still largely undeveloped.
Garcia assured the locators that the local government is committed to maintaining a business-friendly environment. “The city government will fully support your efforts to grow your businesses here in SRP,” he said.
CDM marks this milestone following the recent launch of the 8-hectare prime commercial lots beside the 40-hectare JV area with Cebu City LGU.
“We are thrilled to welcome our new locators who have chosen to ride this wave of growth and become part of the New Cebu City,” said Don-Don Ubaldo, first vice president for Filinvest Township.
“We are excited about the success this partnership will bring and the positive impact it will have on the community,” he added.
“These new establishments will enrich the CDM experience by offering more choices and elevating the overall quality of life here. It’s all about creating a community where the people can live more comfortably and conveniently, with access to everything they need.” he pointed out.
He said he looks forward to more locators following and thriving alongside the growth of SRP through CDM’s properties.
Ubaldo expressed confidence that CDM now has the momentum for accelerated growth and development with investors finding a valuable opportunity to benefit from the drive in a prime landscape and a thriving dynamic environment.
Live-work-play
Jollibee, Chowking and Bo’s Coffee will open stand-alone stores, each with a drive-thru, offering direct access to Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR).
Additionally, Caltex will be the first gasoline station at SRP, serving the fueling needs of vehicles in the area.
“What’s great is that these new locators won’t just make life more convenient for locals and travelers; they’re also going to drive more foot traffic into CDM, benefiting both the businesses here and the community around us.” said Engr. Gwen Sala, deputy general manager of CDM.
Ubaldo also shared that the new TGR Football Academy and Future Golf Driving Range “will bring exciting recreational options to CDM’s fitness community and the sports enthusiasts in Metro Cebu.”
The two football fields with a skills training academy will be operated by nationally known champion coach Tomasito “Glen” Ramos, current head coach of the Greywolves of Don Bosco Technical College – Cebu.
Ramos also coaches the official football teams of Cebu City and Central Visayas that have become champions in various CViRAA and Palarong Pambansa events and other tournaments, including those organized by the Philippine Football Federation and Central Visayas Football Association.
To further cater to the diverse community of CDM, IL Corso Lifestyle Mall across CSCR, has been a preferred site for bikers, skateboarders, skaters, as well as joggers and brisk walkers.
With the presence of Amalfi and Sanremo residential clusters, CDM continues to have a strong community presence, solidifying its live-work-play lifestyle, offering everything one needs to live a full life within a single city.
Sala noted that the new locators found value in the high-traffic volume along CSCR, where Cebu’s north and south meet and cross each other with direct access between the cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Talisay.
Access through the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) bridge to and from Lapu-Lapu City and Cordova in Mactan Island also passes through CSCR with CDM seated right in the heart of SRP.
