Lighting of Tree of Hope is considered as one of the momentous event at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. This year, the hotel tapped event stylist Concept and Idea headed by Helbert Canonigo to help them in coming up with a Christmas decorations incorporating Filipino Native style highlighting the use of recycled and natural materials emphasizing the hotel’s dedication to environmental responsibility and support to local community.
The idea of coconut “takong” material that can be sourced out from local community came into mind and suggested by the stylist for a unique style. Along with the Christmas Tree Lighting is a partnership of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu with GMA Network that has reached a milestone in 2024 which is on its 15years of shared purpose. This year’s Tree of Hope is about continuing to spread hope and share the joy which main purpose is to raise funds to support communities in need.
The Tree of Hope invites the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu to share the joy this Christmas by hanging ornaments to dress up the tree in exchange for a modest donations. The donations thru Tree of Hope in partnership from GMA Kapuso Foundation from the past years has raised over 2M by far and has benefited thousands of school children for projects like Ünang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan and “Give-A-Gift” in areas of Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Samar, Leyte and Lanao del Norte.
