DOH aims to widen and accelerate the Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) coverage which was proven to be effective protection against TB. TPT is usually given to: 1) A person who was exposed to a TB patient; 2) Persons Living with HIV; and 3) People who have different illnesses or low resistance.
According to the Integrated Tuberculosis Information System (ITIS), cases of Tuberculosis in the country have already reached 192,733 from January to June 2025.
DOH Secretary previously said that the agency aims to lower the number of people who are afflicted with TB in the Philippines until it becomes TB-free, the reason why it intensifies its anti-TB projects in various regions.
