To make livable, sustainable, and affordable housing more accessible to Filipino families, the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) Central Visayas Chapter opened the Housing Expo 2025 at SM City Cebu on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The event, organized in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the PAG-IBIG Fund, gathers top property developers, government agencies, and financial institutions.
It aims to showcase diverse housing options while promoting the shared goal of building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities across the region.
Engr. Mark Lindugan, Assistant Regional Director of DHSUD 7, said the expo serves as a venue for collaboration among housing sector stakeholders, saying “it is a platform for collaboration, innovation, and commitment to building sustainable and inclusive communities.”
“Today, we bring government agencies, private developers, financial institutions, and stakeholders with one shared goal—to make decent housing accessible to every Filipino family,” he added.
Cesar Bazan, representing the PAG-IBIG Fund, emphasized that housing development should focus on improving lives and strengthening communities.
“This event highlights our shared mission of providing Filipino families with decent, affordable, and sustainable shelter. Housing is not just about building structures—it’s about building lives, families, and stronger communities,” he said.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, SHDA Central Visayas President Harold Vince See said in an interview housing expos play a vital role in helping the public explore their options.
“They should be aware of the options available because sometimes, they might be limited to one or two developers,” he said.
“But at least when we open it to all our member developers, they see that there’s a variety of options—from low-cost, mid-cost, as well as high-end projects. From those who choose horizontal housing like townhouses or single detached units, to those who prefer mid- and high-rise developments,” See added.
See added that the Housing Expo is one of several activities lined up by SHDA in observance of National Shelter Month, which seeks to strengthen partnerships within the housing industry and increase public awareness about affordable and sustainable housing opportunities.
In Central Visayas, SHDA’s Shelter Month activities include the SHDA Housing Summit held on September 26, the SHDA National Convention on October 9 and 10, the Housing Expo on October 15 at SM City Cebu, the Developers Forum on October 22, and the Culminating Bowling Fest among member developers on October 30.
These activities highlight SHDA’s continuing commitment to collaboration and community-building through the housing sector.
The Housing Expo 2025 features several property developers and partner agencies exhibiting a range of residential and mixed-use projects for different income segments.
Homebuyers can also consult directly with housing agencies and financing institutions to explore programs designed to make homeownership more accessible.
The list of participating exhibitors includes Filinvest Land Inc., Johndorf Ventures Corp., Saekyung Realty Corp., and King Properties at the Rotunda area.
Additionally, the Atrium C area features Deo Homes & Property Development Inc., Robinsons Land Corp., Davies Paints, Cebu Landmasters Inc., Aboitiz Land Inc., Taft Property Venture Development Corp., 8990 Housing Development Corp., and DHSUD/PAG-IBIG Fund.
