The Cebu Provincial Government successfully launched its first-ever Local and Overseas Job Fair last October 18, 2025, at the Cebu Provincial Capitol. The two-day employment event was organized by the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Cebu People’s Action Center (CPAC), and other national agencies.

The opening day focused on overseas employment, drawing a strong turnout of 1,072 jobseekers, with 30 individuals hired on the spot (HOTS) for cleaning positions in Saudi Arabia.

A total of 21 licensed recruitment agencies participated in the fair, offering a wide range of job opportunities abroad. In addition, various national government agencies set up service desks to assist jobseekers with employment-related documentation, clearances, and consultations β€” creating a one-stop-shop experience for applicants.

Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro personally visited the event to show her support and engage with the jobseekers.

β€œAko malipayon kaayo kay daghan kaayo ang ni-avail sa atong job fair, kay ang atong goal gyud diri sa Probinsya mao nga no one should be left behind,” said Governor Baricuatro.

She emphasized that the initiative is part of the Provincial Government’s mission to provide opportunities that help Cebuanos secure meaningful employment and a better quality of life.
