Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro joined the launching of the Unified 911 Visayas Regional Command Center on Saturday, October 25, marking a major step toward a more responsive and integrated emergency system across the region.

The event, held in Cebu City, was also graced by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, along with local chief executives from Metro Cebu.
In her message, Governor Baricuatro expressed her full support for the initiative, emphasizing its vital role in improving coordination and speeding up emergency response efforts in the Visayas.
“This is a major milestone for the region. The Unified 911 system will ensure that help reaches our people faster and more efficiently, wherever they are,” Baricuatro said.
The governor shared that she had earlier planned to establish a provincial unified emergency system, and learned from Malacañang about the forthcoming regional launch of the Unified 911 system in Cebu. She thanked the DILG and partner agencies for spearheading the effort to strengthen public safety and emergency services.

Secretary Remulla, who served as the event’s guest of honor and keynote speaker, also announced that 200 patrol cars, motorcycles, and firetrucks will be turned over to Cebu as part of the national government’s continuing support for local law enforcement and disaster response.

Also present at the launch were Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival, Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito Ouano, and Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Ma. Cynthia “Cindi” King-Chan.
