CEBU CITY — Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival has lauded the overall success of the Sinulog Festival 2026, highlighting smooth crowd management, disciplined participants, vibrant cultural performances, and a record-breaking number of spectators during the Sinulog Grand Parade.
The mayor said the grand parade, which officially began at 8:45 a.m., proceeded as planned following the opening ceremonies attended by Governor Pam Baricuatro, former Mayor Tommy Osmeña, city officials, and Archbishop Jose Palma.

Mayor Archival personally monitored the festivities along the parade route and observed the strong presence of police and security personnel, ensuring public safety and orderly movement of contingents.
“The run was quiet, the artists were expressive, and the public was disciplined throughout the route,” Archival said, commending both performers and spectators for their cooperation.
He also noted that the city government made necessary adjustments to the parade schedule to accommodate official programs and public announcements. The celebration concluded with a 45-minute grand finale centered on environmental awareness, followed by a 20-minute fireworks display.

According to the mayor’s estimates, Sinulog 2026 drew approximately 5.2 million viewers, surpassing last year’s turnout of 4 million and marking the highest attendance in the festival’s history.
Mayor Archival expressed his gratitude to the Sinulog organizers, participating contingents, law enforcement agencies, volunteers, and the public for contributing to a peaceful and successful celebration.

“This year’s Sinulog reflects the unity, discipline, and cultural pride of Cebuanos,” the mayor said. “It is a celebration we can all be proud of.”
The city government continues to assess post-event reports to further improve future Sinulog celebrations.
