National University Cebu steps into the local running scene as it stages the NU Cebu Bulldogs Run 125 on February 21, 2026 at SM City Cebu, a landmark sports event celebrating 125 years of National University and the campus’ first academic year in Cebu.
Co-presented by SM City Cebu and the Barangay Mabolo PS4 Advisory Group, the Bulldogs Run 125 is NU Cebu’s first-ever fun run, bringing together competitive runners, students, alumni, families, and fitness enthusiasts for a morning of road racing and community engagement.
The event features four race categories — 12.5 kilometers, 6 kilometers, 3 kilometers, and a 3-kilometer Family Run — with gun starts beginning at 5:00 a.m. Assembly time is set at 4:00 a.m. at SM City Cebu, North Reclamation Area.
Organizers expect strong participation from Cebu’s running community, with the 12.5K and 6K races offering chip-timed competition for seasoned runners, while the shorter distances open the event to beginners and families.
Beyond competition, the run carries a strong social purpose. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds will go directly to the NU Cebu Scholarship Program, while 25 percent will support community projects in partnership with the Barangay Mabolo PS4 Advisory Group, benefiting selected communities in Cebu, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The Bulldogs Run 125 is designed as a replicable, SDG-aligned sports initiative, supporting Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Race registration is open both online and onsite. Runners may register online through Coco Running or visit the 6th Floor Treasury Office of NU Cebu at SM City Cebu. Registration fees range from ₱1,000 to ₱1,500, with a ₱2,800 group rate for the Family Run.
Each registered runner receives a run shirt, race bib, drawstring bag, finisher medal, raffle entry, and timing chip for 12.5K and 6K participants.
As NU celebrates its 125-year legacy, the NU Cebu Bulldogs Run 125 positions sport as a platform for school pride, healthy living, and community impact, marking NU Cebu’s formal entry into Cebu’s growing road race calendar.
