Rotary International District 3860 officially launched Rotary Week 2026 on February 23, commemorating the 121st Founding Anniversary of Rotary International with a week-long, district-wide celebration anchored on the theme “Unite for Good.”
The celebration runs until March 1, 2026, mobilizing Rotary clubs across the district in a synchronized series of humanitarian projects, service initiatives, and fellowship activities aimed at creating measurable and lasting community impact.

Rotary Week underscores the organization’s continued commitment to its Seven Areas of Focus: peacebuilding and conflict prevention; disease prevention and treatment; water, sanitation and hygiene; maternal and child health; basic education and literacy; community economic development; and protecting the environment.

During the Press Conference held at Pukot Kitchen, District Governor Angel “Jong” G. Fernandez Jr., serving Rotary Year 2025–2026, described Rotary Week as a meaningful reminder of Rotary’s shared identity and mission.

“It is an especially fitting time to celebrate who we are as Rotarians. We highlight the service we render and demonstrate together, and the impact we create as a living expression of unity and joy in serving our communities,” Fernandez said. “This year’s Rotary Week aims for a district-wide celebration that is aligned, inclusive, and impactful.”
Clubs throughout the district are encouraged to implement at least one activity through collaborative district projects, area-led initiatives, or independently organized club programs. Existing service projects may also be highlighted as part of Rotary Week, reinforcing the importance of participation and tangible community outcomes.

Planning and coordination are led by Rotary Week Overall Chair PAG Rey Lyndon Lawas of the Rotary Club of Dumaguete East. Area Rotary Week Chairs include PAG Vic Vosotros of the Rotary Club of Cebu West for Area 1; PP Ish Tan of the Rotary Club of Central Davao for Area 2; and PAG Jeff Honculada of the Rotary Club of Uptown Butuan for Area 3.

Among the highlighted activities is Frontline Defense: A Comprehensive Look at Rabies Prevention, scheduled on February 25, 2026, at the Barangay Bulacao Talisay City Multi-Purpose Hall. The initiative adopts a dual-track learning approach that addresses both human and animal aspects of rabies prevention, targeting barangay health workers, purok leaders, tanods, and first responders.

On February 26, 2026, the Unang Lakang Aklat Project 2.0 will take place at the Paknaan Barangay Hall. The literacy initiative is spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Banilad Metro and the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre in partnership with the Book Club of Mandaue City Comprehensive High School. The project includes storytelling and interactive learning activities for 140 daycare pupils, along with a book donation turnover to support early childhood literacy.

Supporting employment and livelihood opportunities, Trabaho Fair 2026 will be held on February 28, 2026, at the Cube Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu. The job fair connects jobseekers with potential employers while providing access to skills training and livelihood resources, advancing Rotary’s focus on community economic development.

The celebration culminates on March 1, 2026, with Rotary Family Day at MCWD Family Park – The Pavilion, carrying the theme “Strong Families, Strong Communities, Unite for Good.” The event will feature fellowship-oriented activities for Rotarians, their families, and partner communities.

Through Rotary Week 2026, Rotary International District 3860 reinforces its role as a catalyst for service and collaboration—bringing together individuals, institutions, and organizations to deliver meaningful initiatives that uplift lives and strengthen communities.
