Visayan Surety Insurance Corporation (VSIC) officially marked a major milestone with the blessing of its new head office located at the 14th Floor of Kepwealth Center, Cebu Business Park, signaling continued growth, stability, and long-term commitment to serving clients nationwide.

Founded in 1931 by Manuel Gotianoy during a period of global economic uncertainty, VSIC has built its reputation on resilience and prudent management. The company was later led by his son, Atty. Augusto W. Go, who guided the organization through decades of industry change while maintaining its independence. He notably declined multiple buyout offers from large corporations to preserve the company’s founding vision.

Today, under the leadership of President and CEO Kenneth L. Go, the third generation continues to steer the company through an evolving and increasingly risk-sensitive insurance environment.

From its modest beginnings, VSIC has grown into one of the country’s established non-life insurance providers. In 2004, the company recorded ₱4 million in gross premiums written with ₱25 million in capitalization. By 2022, this had expanded to ₱1 billion in gross premiums written and ₱1.3 billion in capitalization.

Recent figures reflect the impact of natural disruptions and shifting market conditions. VSIC reported ₱884 million in gross premium receipts in 2024 and ₱751 million in 2025. Despite these challenges, the company remains financially sound and operationally stable.

Originally offering only Fire and Bonds insurance products, VSIC now provides a diverse portfolio of over 60 non-life insurance products tailored to the evolving needs of individuals and businesses. Its network has also expanded significantly, growing from two licensed agents in its early years to more than 150 agents serving clients across the Philippines.

A key factor in the company’s longevity is its independence. For nearly a century, VSIC has grown organically without mergers or consolidations, maintaining strong relationships with its stakeholders and staying true to its founding principles.
