Asurion, a global leader in technology care and support services, officially inaugurated its newest customer solutions center in Cebu City on Thursday, marking a significant investment in the Philippines and reinforcing the country’s position as a key hub for global tech-enabled services.

The new facility located Bonifacio District along F. Cabahug Street, is expected to generate approximately 2,000 jobs over the next two years. The expansion will support a wide range of roles, including customer experience, technical support, and back-end digital services.

The opening ceremony was attended by Asurion’s Chief Executive Officer, alongside senior leaders from its global and Philippine operations, as well as local government officials and representatives from the business and community sectors. The event featured a press conference, executive remarks, a ceremonial blessing of the facility and ribbon-cutting, and a walkthrough showcasing the center’s capabilities and workplace environment.

Asurion serves millions of customers worldwide, offering support, repair, and replacement services for mobile devices, electronics, and connected technologies. The company’s continued expansion in the Philippines highlights its long-term strategy to scale operations in markets with strong talent pipelines and a competitive service ecosystem.

Industry observers note that Cebu remains a strategic location for business process outsourcing and technology-driven services, with its skilled workforce and growing infrastructure making it attractive for multinational firms seeking to diversify operations outside traditional Metro Manila hubs.

The Cebu launch underscores Asurion’s sustained investment in the country, not only in terms of infrastructure but also in job creation and workforce development. The move is expected to contribute to regional economic activity while strengthening the Philippines’ standing in the global digital services industry.
