SM Supermalls strengthened its commitment to sustainability with the official launch of its Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station at SM City Consolacion, further expanding its network of clean mobility solutions across Cebu. The event gathered local government officials, business partners, and SM management in celebrating another milestone that supports the growing adoption of electric vehicles while making sustainable transportation more accessible and convenient for the community. With this addition, all SM Supermalls in Cebu now offer free EV charging facilities, reinforcing SM’s commitment to building greener, future-ready communities.
Leading the ceremony were Consolacion Mayor Teresa “Nene” Pepito Alegado, Vice Mayor Dr. Joannes “Joyjoy” Pepito Alegado, SM Supermalls Regional Operations Head and Assistant Vice President Ana Kristin Therese M. Seno, Assistant Mall Manager Joselito Blando, and representatives from VinFast Cebu Central led by its General Manager Adrian Justin Go.
During the program, Ms. Seno highlighted SM’s continued efforts to integrate sustainability into its developments, while Mayor Alegado expressed the local government’s support for initiatives that encourage environmental stewardship and innovation. The celebration culminated with the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, officially opening the EV Charging Station, followed by the first public charging demonstration showcasing the facility’s ease of use and convenience for EV owners.
The launch forms part of SM Supermalls’ broader sustainability agenda, which promotes responsible environmental practices through renewable energy initiatives, waste management programs, green infrastructure, and accessible facilities that support low-carbon lifestyles.
