PHILIPPINE TEAM YOUTH TAKE HOME GOLD & SILVER AT SOUTH EAST ASIA BJJ REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA — Cebu’s young Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes brought pride to the country after bagging multiple medals for the Philippine Team at the Asian Regional BJJ Championship – South East Asia held in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Award-winning siblings Sarah Lee TIO, Blue Belt and Stan Lee TIO, Grey Belt, both recognized Batang Pinoy athletes from Cebu, competed in their first international tournament and delivered strong performances on the world stage.

Medal Results:

• Sarah Lee TIO – Gold Medal, No-Gi Division | Silver Medal, Gi Division

• Stan Lee TIO – Silver Medal, Gi Division

The two trained rigorously alongside their seasoned head coaches to prepare for the regional championship. Their podium finishes highlight the growing talent pool of Filipino youth in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the continued development of grassroots sports in Cebu.

“This is a proud moment for Cebu and for the Philippines,” said Head Coach Phil Rizon. “Sarah and Stan showed discipline, heart, and sportsmanship representing our country. We hope their success inspires more young Filipinos to pursue martial arts.”

The Asian Regional BJJ Championship – South East Asia gathered top youth and adult competitors from across the region, providing a platform for athletes to gain international experience and represent their nations.
