Governor Gwen Garcia, leader of vote-rich Cebu Province with 3.70 million registered voters and leading political party, 1-Cebu, has officially endorsed Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas Senatorial Candidate Erwin Tulfo.
In her speech during the One Cebu sortie with the Alyansa Slate in the municipality of Dumanjug, Gov. Garcia highlighted that despite her rift with Senator Raffy Tulfo, she will still support Erwin Tulfo.
“But if we really think about it, even within one family, we all think differently. We’re not the same. And I won’t pretend otherwise. In our family, some of us share the same mindset—but even then, others still differ in how they think and act,” Garcia stated in mixed Visayan and English.
“And so, in deference with the President and because I do believe this Senatoriable is ready to defend Cebu—I say we support Erwin Tulfo,” she added.
Tulfo then thanked the generous endorsement of Gov. Garcia, especially that the province posed 87.48% voter turnout in the 2022 Elections.
“To Gov. Garcia, One Cebu, and all the Cebuanos, I will not let you down. I will ensure that your vote and support will be worthwhile,” Tulfo said.
Other members of 1-Cebu Party likewise back Tulfo’s senate candidacy, namely Rhea Mae Gullas (first district), Edsel Galeos (second district), Garcia (third district), Janice Salimbangon (fourth district), Duke Frasco (fifth district), Daphne Lagon (sixth district), Patricia Calderon (seventh district), Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon (lone district of Mandaue City), Rachel “Cutie” del Mar (Cebu City North), Maria Cynthia “Cindi” King Chan (lone district of Lapu-Lapu City), and Sonny Lagon (Ako Bisaya party-list).
This endorsement will significantly boost Tulfo’s number as he recently sealed endorsement of another vote-rich province, Batangas with 1.95 million registered voters.
Tulfo also got the massive support of other vote rich areas such as Pangasinan (2.15 million voters), Pampanga (1.62 million voters), Quezon Province (1.49 million) and Quirino (130, 307 voters), among others.
