Governor Pam Defends Record Amid Questions on Political Allegiance

Governor Pam pushed back against claims questioning her political allegiance, emphasizing that leadership should be judged by performance and service delivery rather than labels or partisan declarations.

Responding to recurring assertions that she is “not a true Duterte supporter,” Governor Pam stressed that genuine support for any administration is reflected in governance outcomes, not public posturing.

“Leadership is not about slogans or performative loyalty,” Governor Pam said. “It is about delivering results, maintaining public order, building infrastructure, and responding to the real needs of our people.”

The governor noted that the principles associated with the Duterte administration—decisive leadership, discipline, infrastructure development, and efficient service delivery—have consistently guided her approach to governance. Throughout her tenure, she has prioritized local economic resilience, public safety, and effective coordination with national agencies.

Governor Pam also addressed criticisms regarding her independence and willingness to work across political lines, stating that such flexibility is essential to advancing provincial interests.

“Independence should never be mistaken for disloyalty,” she said. “Strong local leadership requires the ability to cooperate with different sectors and national leaders while remaining focused on what is best for our constituents.”

Supporters of the governor echoed this view, pointing out that the Duterte administration itself emphasized competence over compliance and valued local officials who could govern decisively without being constrained by factional politics.

Analysts have likewise observed that Governor Pam’s leadership style—measured, firm, and results-oriented—aligns with the governance framework promoted during the previous administration, particularly its focus on institution-building and continuity.

“At the end of the day, the measure of leadership is not political branding,” Governor Pam said. “It is whether communities are safer, services are delivered, and development reaches the people.”

As debates over political allegiance continue, the governor reiterated that her priority remains effective governance and tangible outcomes for the province.

“Leadership is proven by results,” she added. “That has always been, and will remain, my focus.”
