Runners and fitness enthusiasts will soon have the chance to take on a unique multi-city race as registration for the IBP Cebu Tricity Marathon 2026 officially opens on March 15.
Scheduled on October 25, 2026, the marathon will take participants through three major urban centers in Cebu: Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Talisay City. The event aims to combine athletic competition with advocacy, promoting health, second chances, hope, and access to justice.
Organized by the Young Lawyers’ Association of Cebu, Inc., the event will support several partner beneficiaries, including the BAI Foundation, Pink Box Project, and legal aid initiatives of Youth Leadership for Active Citizenship.
Participants can choose from four race categories: the 42-kilometer full marathon, the 25-kilometer run, the 12-kilometer race, and the 6-kilometer fun run. Gun starts are scheduled at midnight for the full marathon, 3:00 a.m. for the 25K, 4:00 a.m. for the 12K, and 4:15 a.m. for the 6K.
Each distance will feature divisions for Open Male, Open Female, Lawyer Male, and Lawyer Female participants.
Registered runners will receive a race kit that includes an event shirt, race bib with timing chip, marathon water bottle, ₱100 SMART load card, and a post-race meal. Finishers will also receive medals, with additional finisher entitlements depending on the distance. Full marathon finishers will receive a finisher shirt and jacket, while 25K finishers will receive a finisher shirt.
To encourage early participation, organizers are offering an Opening Week Super Discount from March 15 to March 21, with up to 40 percent off standard registration rates. Runners who sign up during this period will also receive an exclusive tote bag, while early bird registrants will get a commemorative pin.
Billed as “One Race. Three Cities. Three Advocacies,” the IBP Cebu Tricity Marathon hopes to establish itself as one of Cebu’s landmark running events while raising funds for community programs and legal aid initiatives.
Organizers encourage interested participants to secure their slots early as registration opens on March 15 through the event’s official channels.
