CEBU CITY – Tourism is often measured by visitor arrivals, new destinations, and economic growth. Yet behind every successful journey are the people who welcome visitors, preserve local culture, build partnerships, and create experiences that travelers remember.
That message took center stage during the World Travel Expo (WTE) Year 10 Media Launch held Friday at Golden Prince Hotel & Suites, ahead of the Cebu leg of the nationwide travel event scheduled for August 14-16, 2026, at Ayala Center Cebu.

The Media Launch offered a preview of this year’s Cebu edition, which continues the nationwide Year 10 series under the theme “Xtraordinary Journeys, Xceptional Memories.” More than a celebration of destinations, the event highlights the role of collaboration in strengthening tourism and creating meaningful travel experiences.

Speaking during the program, Miles Caballero, Managing Director of World Travel Expo, said the event has always been guided by a simple belief.
“At its heart, the World Travel Expo has always been about people. It is about the destinations that inspire us, the communities that welcome travelers, and the individuals who work behind every experience that makes a journey memorable.”
Her message reflected a broader perspective on tourism-one that values relationships as much as destinations. Meaningtul conversations can lead to new opportunities. Partnerships help communities grow. Shared stories inspire future journeys.

For Cebu, hosting the next leg of World Travel Expo Year 10 reflects its continuing role as one of the country’s leading tourism gateways. Its blend of heritage, culture, hospitality, and thriving tourism industry makes it an ideal setting for conversations that help move Philippine tourism forward.

When World Travel Expo Year 10 opens at Ayala Center Cebu this August, it will bring together travelers and tourism stakeholders in a shared space to discover destinations, exchange ideas, and strengthen the connections that continue to shape the future of travel.
