The riding public in Cebu will soon fully adopt a cashless system to help reduce coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) risk exposure.

Cebu-based firm Zetta Solutions Inc. has developed ZPay, a mobile-friendly application that has an e-voucher that serves as the riding public’s fare load.

Gaudencio Tabinas Jr., the chief executive officer (CEO) for Zetta Solutions Inc. said that ZPay answers the call of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) pushing digital transactions in the public transport system in the country.

“The cashless system also plays a role as the government implements the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP). The cashless system is also part of the new normal,” Tabinas Jr. said.

The ZPay application is currently available at the Google Play Store.

After downloading the application, one has to create his account. There will be an activation code to complete the account registration.

There will be designated ZLoad Terminals to reload the e-vouchers. Reloading will also be made available through different online payment channels..

What makes ZPay interesting aside from its cashless method is it can help the local government units (LGUs) and health authorities in contact tracing at public transportation.

ZPay is one of the products offered by Zetta Solutions along with ZLoad and ZFare.

The company aims at cashless, contactless, and seamless fare payments leveraging quick response (QR) technology for taxis, buses, and modern jeepneys.

“We want to uplift the lives of operators, drivers, and commuters as the country also transitions to the new normal and modernization program of the government,” he added.

The company has an all-out solution to the public transport business.

Its modules feature an Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS), Fleet Management Information System (FMIS), and Human Capital Management (HCM).

The modules all come together to provide the operator information to always be on top of their transport service operations so they can manage them effectively.

The early adopters of this solution are Lapu-Lapu Mandaue Drivers Operators Transport Cooperative (LAMADO) and Cordova Lapu-Lapu Metro Cebu Transport Cooperative (CLMC).
