The Yuletide spirit can be felt all over Cebu as the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund (RAFI-DACF) turned over hundreds of kiddie bundles to various LGU partners.

Late in November and throughout the month of December, the RAFI-DACF team distributed the Kiddie Bundles to various LGUs partners in Cebu as a part of their 2020 initiative. These bundles were distributed to the Day Care Students by the LGU partners.

“This initiative aims to promote the continuation of early education even during difficult times. We are happy to have curated the Kiddie Bundles which are particularly designed for day care students and empower parents to implement activities at home to help boost their child’s brain development,” said Jenny Lea Tan-Menchavez, RAFI-DACF Junior Executive Director.

The areas covered in the initiative included the following municipalities:

  • City of Naga – November 27
  • Municipality of Bantayan – December 2
  • Municipality of Argao – December 5
  • Municipality of Alegria – December 7
  • Municipality of Malabuyoc – December 7
  • Brgy. Bitoon, Municipality of Dumanjug – December 9
  • Municipality of Samboan – December 9
  • Municipality of Cordova – December 10

Each Kiddie Bundle contains DACF learning materials, Kiddie Hub modules, flash cards (for letters and number practice), hygiene kit, art materials, and last but not the least, a month’s worth of Vitamin C supply. The items in the bundle are enough to kick start the children’s new year with fresh minds and healthier bodies.

The challenges of the year 2020 hit hard for many families throughout the province. These bundles may serve as reminders for the children to hold on to hope. But more than just a gesture, the initiative also had the primary goal of promoting the importance of early education as well as children’s health.

The Kiddie Bundles are made with care and given with the full intention for the children to be smarter and stronger as they welcome the year ahead. As for the RAFI-DACF team, it was a great way to close off 2020 as they now look forward to what 2021 may bring.

The Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI-DACF) aims to enable communities to champion for children to reach their own potentials. Its Grants Program supports initiatives promoting the welfare and development of children through Early Education and Health and Nutrition.
