The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Cebu, led by District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad, conducted its first monthly coordination meeting with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) headed by President Regan Rex King on June 10, 2026.
The meeting served as a venue for open and constructive dialogue between the Port and the business community, allowing stakeholders to raise concerns, seek clarifications, and discuss matters affecting their importation activities and customs transactions. CCCI invited its member companies to participate in the meeting to strengthen engagement and foster closer collaboration with the Port.

Among those present were representatives from the Lapu-Lapu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Talisay City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Visayas Unified Truckers Association (VUTAI), Carmen Copper Corporation, Taiheiyo Cement Philippines, Inc., and other key stakeholders from the Cebu business community.
District Collector Yap-Lumontad underscored the importance of continuous stakeholder engagement in improving customs services and supporting business growth in the region, saying, “These coordination meetings allow us to better understand the concerns and needs of our stakeholders. Through regular dialogue and collaboration, we can work together to address challenges, streamline processes, and create a more efficient and responsive customs environment that supports trade and economic growth in Cebu.”

The monthly coordination meetings form part of the Port of Cebu’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the private sector and promoting a more responsive, transparent, and stakeholder-centered customs environment, aligned with the directives of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno and the Integrity. Accountability. Modernization. (IAM) BOC Movement.
